儘管台灣民眾還在觀望猶豫，但「港客」已等不及出手了，大批香港人為躲避充滿「陸客」的香港，紛紛組成「採購團」來台看房購屋，只要「便宜划算」就出手購買，全台六都以及東海岸台東、花蓮，都成為香港人眼中的重點看房區域。
近期香港流行「來台買房」，置產足跡遍及全台。
TVBS報導，台南安平區成為港人海外移居的新熱點，平均每周就有二、三組港客前往看房。安平區對港客獨具魅力，係因該區生活步調緩慢，適合港人退休定居，且1，000萬的價格能夠購買30~50坪的物件，僅將港五分之一的房價十分吸引港客。
除了千萬元的客層，港客中也不乏破億買盤。交通便利、生活機能佳且充滿利多題材的台中房市，被港客評定為超值划算區域，根據中國時報報導，一名位於七期新建案的接待人員表示，「破億豪宅對於一些港客而言根本俗擱大碗」，擁有捷運、公園與COSTCO大賣場的生活機能，成功讓港客付費買單。
台中市建築經營協會理事長林正昇分析，許多前往台中看房的港客，喜愛交通便利但生活步調不緊繃的生活方式，且台灣與香港的語言文字差距不大、兩地距離近，因此港客來台購屋風氣十分盛行，「已是建商鎖定的重點對象」。
台灣東岸的台東、花蓮也因擁有好山、好水，成為陸資買房重點。
陸資買房不僅限於西半部，位於東台灣的花蓮、台東早已漲翻天。好山好水的東台灣不只是國人的旅遊勝地，近來更成為「陸資」買賣熱區，讓花東民眾不斷抱怨，自家簡直成為「中國城」。《天下雜誌》調查，由於花蓮目前高達七成都是投資客，因此帶動當地房價飆漲，鎖定的區域也已從市區轉往壽豐、鳳林、玉里等地。
房仲柯嘉忠接受好房網採訪時指出，「當地仲介都知道陸資與台資企業合作買地」，並透露花蓮房價維持每坪5至6萬元的行情許久，三年前卻漲到每坪破10萬元，直到現在每坪約17萬元，全面「鄉漲」讓東台灣居民大喊「回不去了」。
對於港人頻頻來台購屋的趨勢，一名港客林先生接受TVBS訪問時透露，來台購屋的動機是長期投資，希望能夠有穩定的「收租」，「目的不是炒賣」。好房雜誌社長倪子仁則認為，台灣的豪宅價格只要香港的一半，甚至是三分之一，卻可以「傳世傳代」，因此不少陸資透過香港賺進台灣買房，能夠買「土地」而非「地上權」十分吸引陸資。
相較於「陸資」買房明顯受限於543原則，「港資」的管制較為寬鬆，可以個人名義貸款六成購屋，但倪子仁提醒，若一旦開放陸資進入台灣，「房價再高三倍、五倍，大陸照樣會買單」，屆時六都的房價會瞬間向上攀升，不可不慎。
